കറന്‍സിയില്‍ നിന്നും ഗാന്ധി പടിയിറങ്ങുന്നു !!!

ദില്ലി: നോട്ടിനെ  'ഗാന്ധിതല' എന്ന് ഇനി അധികകാലം വിളിയ്ക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കില്ല. രാഷ്ട്രപിതാവായ  മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധിയുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ കറന്‍സി നോട്ടുകളില്‍ നിന്നു പടിയിറങ്ങാന്‍  പോകുന്നു.  മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധിക്ക് പകരം ആരുടെയൊക്കെ ചിത്രമാണ് നോട്ടില്‍ കാണാന്‍  ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതെന്ന രീതിയില്‍ റിസര്‍വ് ബാങ്ക് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ ജനങ്ങളില്‍  നിന്നും അഭിപ്രായങ്ങള്‍ ക്ഷണിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞു.  1987ല്‍ 500 രൂപ നോട്ട് പുറത്തിറക്കിയപ്പോഴാണ് ആദ്യമായി ഗാന്ധിജിയുടെ  ചിത്രം ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയത്. അതുവരെ അശോകസ്തംഭമായിരുന്നു  നോട്ടിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ചില ആഫ്രിക്കന്‍ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ കറന്‍സിയിലും  ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഗാന്ധിജിയുടെ ചിത്രമുണ്ട്.  വിവിധ തുറകളില്‍ വ്യക്തിമുദ്രപതിപ്പിച്ച ആളുകളെ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശിക്കാനാണ്  കേന്ദ്രബാങ്ക് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. പക്ഷേ, ഗാന്ധിജിയുടെ കുത്തക  അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമം വിവാദങ്ങളുടെ തിരികൊളുത്തലാകുമോയെന്ന ആശങ്കയും  സജീവമാണ്. വിവിധ രാഷ്ട്രീയപാര്‍ട്ടികളും മത, വര്‍ഗ്ഗ വിഭാഗങ്ങളും  ആവശ്യങ്ങളുമായി രംഗത്തിറങ്ങിയാല്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ പോസ്റ്റല്‍ സ്റ്റാംപ്  ഇറക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നോട്ടും ഇറക്കേണ്ടി വരും.
